Yet another bill being rolled into the house without being out in the open and instead, talking about the flu epidemic which way more important but what about the fact that this epidemic has been going on for more then a week now its main stream. Anyways this mother act basically works this way. When the mothers go to the hospital to get their new born, they are subjected to multiple tests; depending on the what their scores may be the mothers will not be able to take their child home unless they are willing to be put on medications. I understand that their has been a lot of mothers that have very un-fit mothers, but I still believe in choice. Women should be able to make their own choice and this bill obviously violates a constitutional right to privacy and right to liberty. Yet, this is going to be an on going struggle for the Obama Administration, but then Obama doesn't have the power. He is just the guy with the strings attached, he is pulling anything, the people in the white house are. Anyways I hope you check out this article

I understood your view on the Mother act yet fail to understand your ramblings about Obama "pulling anything" or its relevance to your argument. And to which "people" in the white house are you referring to?
ReplyDeleteI agree, women should be able to make their own decisions. I think that out of everything women do deserve their privacy.
ReplyDeleteI hear ya, Pig Flu is definitely a more pressing topic right now, but that doesn't mean gov't can put everything else on the back burner. That being said, I'm not sure this is anything that even needs to be legislated at all. They already drug-test every newborn to see if the mother got wasted while pregnant, and if so they call CPS. Isn't that enough? Kids can't necessarily go home with drug addicted mothers who got high while pregnant, but forcing a mother to put things into their kids' bodies is a little much.
ReplyDeleteAs far as "pulling strings", we'll never know who really is calling the shots. Never. Someone is in charge, but whether it's really the president or someone else, is debatable. We'll never know. But for the sake of argument, I don't think it has ever been the president. I mean, ever. It's always been someone over them, but whatever. Like I said, will we, as the general public ever really know? Probably not.
yeah Obama isn't running the show everyone knows that. the people in the white house are the Secretary of state, congress, the super high judges and so on.
ReplyDeleteOur country has moved a long way and to take a step back. . woman should have the right to do what they want and also make decisions for themselves. No act should prohibit woman from doing so.
ReplyDeletemy my my, how controvercial. This is the most responces I've seen.
ReplyDeleteI've often wondered where's we'd draw the line on this subject. i find it interesting that it's drawn here. I wonder if it will pass.
Wow, that is insane. I can't believe the government would go between a woman and her child and jepardize her health with having to be put on medications. I really hope this doesn't pass. Also, I thin this is evidence for how corrupted and controled our media is by not getting important news like this out.
